With luxurious velvet sofas and a relaxed atmosphere, Barrio Latino on Rue de Faubourg is one of the best places around to go for a drink and dance to some uptempo latin dance music. If you have ever fancied dancing the night away on the Seine, you should try to make it along to Batofar, which is a club set on a permanently moored barge. Through the week, you can chill to the sounds of some hot live jazz, whereas on the weekend, you can dance to an eclectic mix of house, techno, and trance sounds. Back in the 60s, Bus Palladium on rue Fontaine was the place to be for yeye music. Although the d?cor has largely unchanged since then, the music policy these days is more of a mix of hip hop, funk, and soul. Designed by Phillippe Starck, Kong on Rue du Pont Neuf has a glamourous interior and some fantastic views of the Parisian skyline and the stunning models which frequent the venue. If you want to get in, though, you will have to dress to impress, as the doorstaff are notoriously choosy. Celebrity spotters should head down to Le Baron on Avenue Marceau, a tiny club with a very selective door policy. Once a dodgy dive, it has since been reinvigorated by a graffiti artist and has welcomed such illustrious guests as Bjork and Sofia Coppola. With giant beds and an all white VIP square, Le Cab, near the Louvre, is one of the most visually distinctive clubs you will ever visit. The door policy is quite strict, so if you are out with a large group of guys, it can pay to splinter off into smaller groups. Originally a strictly gay only affair, Le Queen on avenue des Champs Elysees is now a little more relaxed, and attracts a mix of gay men, celebs and creative types. DJs play house and disco most nights, although there are occasional drag and strip shows as well.
