Ronald William "Ron" Howard is an American movie director as well as a famous actor of the 1970s. Howard first became renowned as an actor starring in the 1960s and 1970s films. Since he gave up acting, he has directed a great many movies, including the blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and its loud sequel, Angels & Demons. The film is based on the novel written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code which made the humankind split into two groups: those who are for it and those who are against it, inclusive of the Church. Even though The Da Vinci Code was forbidden in plenty of countries, a lot of people all over the world have watched the movie. Angels & Demons continues to display the conflict between the Catholic Church and science vividly depicted in The Da Vinci Code. The plot of the film Angels & Demons concentrates upon the quest of Harvard University religious iconologist Robert Langdon to reveal the enigmas of a powerful secret society known as the Illuminati. The Church, especially the Vatican, faces a great threat when the main four cardinals to supersede the deceased Pontiff are kidnapped by members of the Illuminati dedicated to scientific knowledge. The Church is promised that each cardinal will be murdered one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with an antimatter bomb that is to go off underneath St Peter's Cathedral sharp at midnight ruining the Vatican. To deal with this terrifying jeopady, the Church hires religious iconologist Robert Langdon played by Tom Hanks who knows a lot about the secret society. He has to start the investigation promptly, racing against time to find the kidnapped cardinals by deciphering clues, symbols and other historical facts. Robert Langton accompanied by physicist Vittoria tries to reveal the mysterious death of the Pontiff. The images of Rome in the film are splendid and captivating. The viewer has a chance to walk along the streets of Rome and visit the most famous historical and cultural masterpieces together with the movie characters. The movie does well to involve interest through its explanations of history and the inner organisation of the Vatican. The plot keeps the viewer engaged and interested up to the end of the film. The plot unfolds with unexpected twists and turns that leave the watcher thrilled.
