In fact, you can find Opera performed right across the city, in the Palace Theatre, the Royal Exchange Theatre, and the Lowry Centre ? the choice is yours. If you wish to further explore the history of the city you will find a good selection of public museums that cover life in Manchester from Roman times right through to the Industrial Revolution. Additionally, the Manchester Museum has a great Egyptology section, as well as a selection of artefacts from around the globe. The Manchester Art Gallery on Mosley Street is owned by the city, and is free to enter. Fans of the pre-Raphaelite era can explore one of the largest collections of this type in Britain. Keeping yourself well fuelled during your time in Manchester is particularly easy if you are a lover of curry ? and if so, the Curry Mile is a must-visit area of the city that may well make your eyes water!
