Flowers for spring

If you are looking forward to the spring, cleaning your home and making it a fresh environment for the new season, then you''re sure to be keen to make attractive, pleasant floral displays to improve the look and ambience of your living environment. There are so many types of flowers coming into bloom now in this season of renewal which are beautiful and fragrant and will find a perfect place in your home.

The spring is of course a season of rebirth, a time when the days lengthen, the sunshine is brighter and warmer, and flowers come into bloom. Take a walk through the park and you will see all this before your eyes.

Many types of spring flowers, such as tulips and hyacinths, grow from bulbs. These however are the larger and grander, showier and more ostentatious varieties, and they bloom later on in the springtime.

Smaller bulbs like crocuses are also very popular, bringing spring to your home much earlier as they are held as the first of the spring flowers. These are more modest flowers, shorter and smaller than some of the better-known seasonal flowers. However with people buying and planting these as early as autumn, when these flowers bloom in the season of rebirth they can look spectacular.

The seasonal flowers you can find in the spring present an array of colours. The colour of the crocus can vary greatly, though typically you will find them in traditional spring hues such as yellow, white, lilac and mauve. There are about eighty species of crocus, and approximately thirty of these are cultivated. The crocus is a modest flower, certainly more so than some of the larger bulbs that grow in the spring; but it certainly has its charm.

Of the larger flowers, hyacinths are always popular. With a single dense spike of fragrant flowers in all kinds of colours ? red, blue, white, orange, pink, violet, yellow ? it is a luxuriant plant to choose for your garden or display.

This is also the season for the tulip: large, ostentatious flowers, these are typically found on their own, their bright colours easily overshadowing anything you might place beside them. In red, pink or yellow most often, they are a great addition to any floral showcase.

And of course, who can forget the rose? Orange and pink roses in particular make a very spring-like effect on any environment: standing for joy, enthusiasm and affection, these lighter yet still ostentatious flowers are a perfect choice to lighten up any home.
