The Word format is one of the most frequently deployed file formats. Microsoft Word is a word processing application designed for creation of professional documents, for example resumes, letters, fax cover sheets, checklists, legal documents, brochures, technical manuals and so on. The Word file format is frequently deployed by corporate businesses, agencies, and can be found in most schools and universities. Students use it daily and business people deploy it for creating professional documents.
The Word format was developed by Microsoft. Its original name was Multi-Tool Word. The first version was launchedin the eighties. Since then, there have appeared several other versions, including the latest version introduced in 2008. The next version of Word is believed to come to the market in the coming year. Many new features typical of other programs in the Microsoft Office 2010 will be included. Microsoft Word 2010 will have new WordArt styles and effects supplanting the old ones.
Though Word is a constituent of the Microsoft Office system, it is also sold as a standalone software package and included in Microsoft Works Suite. Starting from the 2003 addition, the branding was altered to emphasise Word's identity as a constituent within the Office Suite. Microsoft Ltd. Renamed Microsoft Word into Microsoft Office Word.
Word allows users to type, format and edit text to be printed off or viewed electronically.
The Word File format is an affordable word processing application. The word processing application offers a number of features and tools, and a great many users are familiar and comfortable with its Microsoft toolbars.
Word provides options to format fonts, add page numbers and clipart, as well as create headers and tables.
