I had been watching the Droid for some time, and so once I received an E-mail notifying me of it's launch, I headed on over to the Verizon Retailer on launch day. The entire workers have been carrying shirts that mentioned, "Droid does," and there was a small, however important crowd within the nook right beside the entrance. There I saw a stand where some redneck was eying this blocky, shiny black phone. Abandoned, on the same show set-up, there was a lonely, small, much sleeker, touch display smart phone I didn't recognize. Nonetheless wanting to take my flip with the Droid, I made a decision to play with this other one to go the time. It was not long at all before I realized that the unadvertised, un-hyped Droid Eris was vastly superior. Let me start by evaluating it to the Motorola Droid (MD) (Motorola Droid A855 Cellphone (Verizon Wireless)). The MD Has hard edges, corners, and an unfriendly field shape. It has a skinny slide-out keyboard, the keys of which have very little tactile suggestions, and the rows aren't offset like a real keyboard. Additionally, on this slide-out panel, is a d-pad, which is sort of utterly pointless given the contact screen. Your entire smart phone has a shiny clean finish, making it actually vulnerable to scratches and fingerprints. The tech specs are somewhat better, with a quicker cpu and an exquisite excessive decision screen. Also the camera has a flash. The Droid Eris (DE) on the other hand, is sort of smaller, and has rounded edges (very similar to the iPhone.) It uses only the on-display screen keyboard, which isn't the very best of all enter methods, but most problems are averted by its useful correction feature. Additionally, just like the iPhone, you may turn it on its aspect to enlarge the keyboard, making the problem of hitting the flawed key practically disappear. Put exactly what you need on fundamental and sub screens and nothing else. >High quality camera. With the best settings, the picture is just too high quality to ship in a mms message. No flash, however hey.
