From the Beatles on, I ate, drank and slept music. Day and evening, I quietly charted my course toward being a Rock Star.The ironic half was I thought I was going to do it sitting behind a drumkit. My folks purchased me a 5-piece no title drumset, and for the next couple of years, I played along with albums by the Who and Uncommon Earth. And I really dug it. However then- one tremendous summer day in 1968, I heard something that would change my life. I used to be with my dad in the automobile stereo division at a Sears, once I heard a sound I’d by no means heard before. It was rock music, certain, but the guitars sounded not like something I’d ever heard. It was my first publicity to the almighty Jimi Hendrix. And that sound was INCREDIBLE. Within a week, I’d offered those drums and purchased an electrical guitar. And now, I needed to be taught to play it! Which in fact meant I’d need a guitar lesson or two. But I had a problem forward of me. I used to be (and still am, in fact) left-handed. I couldn't find an teacher who would agree to teach me the best way to play guitar in the place that felt natural to me. In hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t. It’s arduous choosing up simply any previous guitar and rocking out when it’s strung backwards. In any case, I finally discovered the man (he additionally insisted I play proper-handed, but he requested nicely. J). His title was Don- he drove to my home for my weekly lesson, and the lessons have been solely $1.50 every!!! Gasoline and other expenses had been much less then, but still.
