Marakech

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Morocco, Marrakech is a thriving historical centre with an overwhelming list of things to see and do. Merzouga

Merzouga is a desert town which, on first glance, seems to have come straight out of the set of a Hollywood movie. It is sheltered by the rolling Erg Chebbi sand dunes and surrounded by white desert as far as the eye can see. The town is a great place to see the 'other' Morocco, where locals still live a life relatively unaffected by modern ideals and commercialism.

Travel to Morocco is relatively cheap, thanks to budget flights and low-cost hotel accommodation. Visitors are advised to respect local tradition by covering up outside tourist-focused zones, and it's wise to protect yourself against theft by taking out travel insurance.
