Now that mobile phones are internet browsers they are becoming the must have business item and we are becoming increasingly reliant on them. A survey of 1000 business people, carried out by Nectar, recently found that 20% keep their business mobile phones on over the weekend. Email is now the most popular way to stay in touch with colleagues according to 71% of the business population. However, despite all the positives associated with mobile phones there are some downsides of this increased reliance and mild addiction to them, notably in the motoring industry. Almost a third of drivers admitted to using their mobile phones in a recent Halfords poll conducted by YouGov. Additionally, 22% said they had actually made calls whilst driving. The next alternative is the increasingly popular Bluetooth headset. Despite looking like you have an imaginary friend or are just talking to yourself, these are probably the most useful hands free devices you can get. They are lightweight and now they are finally becoming more comfortable, you can fully make use of the five hour battery life on some of the better models. They will also cancel background noise and automatically adjust the volume depending on the situation. They aren''t just handy for driving either. If you are on the go, they will put an end to hurriedly rummaging in your bag when your phone start''s ringing or searching your house for where you left your handset. A particularly handy business smartphone that allows you to keep your hands free is the HTC Touch Pro2. It allows you to switch from email to conference call just by tapping a contact and you get crystal clear sound thanks to the microphone and speaker.
