ABBYY officially announced the new Lite and Free versions of its app Business Card Reader for the Apple iPhone. The two new versions will enable iPhone fans to try the functionalities of the ABBYY Business Card Reader at no cost.

The ABBYY Business Card Reader is a solution that can transfer information from business cards directly to the address book of the phone. This is achieved via the device camera and thanks to text recognition technology. Key data, including names, e-mails and phone numbers, will be automatically saved in the appropriate fields of the phone book so that the users will not need to further reorganize the received information. The tool is capable of processing text in 16 languages.
The test versions of ABBYY Business Card Reader include:
Business Card Reader Lite for iPhone. Enables users to capture information from all business cards and preview it on a display. The data that is transferred to the address book is the first and last name and the first phone number.
ABBYY Business Card Reader Free. This version of the app can capture and recognize any available data on the business card but it does not enable the users to save results in the phone address.
Users may upgrade both versions easily using an app installed on the devices.
