Skiing Fun in France

It's never too early to start planning your next holiday and with 'summer' drawing to a close and the ominous winter weather rolling in what better time than to start dreaming of sandy beaches, powder snow covered slopes or an endless array of colourful cocktails. If you are unsure as to where you want to go but know that you need to make your escape as soon as possible there is little more exciting than a ski holiday. An abundance of snow packed slopes, shopping opportunities and hot toddys will have you feeling festive in no time.

There are fantastic ski resorts all over the world with some of the most popular residing in Canada, North America and Switzerland. However, France remains home to some of the largest and most vibrant and varied ski resorts in the world offering holiday makers a variety of activities to keep them entertained from the impressive slopes and runs to the vibrant apr?s ski scene.

Chamonix ski resort in France remains one of the largest and most varied resorts in the Alps. Chamonix not only boasts beautiful scenery but also an excellent nightlife. The French ski resort of Meribel is similar to Chamonix in that it offers skiers and snowboarders plenty to do during their stay with a wide selection of ameneties such as a vibrant collection of bars, clubs and restaurants and a choice of unique shops. Meribel is a pretty Savoyard ski resort with stunning views over the huge 3 valleys ski domain.

The skiing at Meribel is varied and suits all skill levels with steeper and faster skiing up at Val Thorens to the famous 76km circuit for more advanced skiiers to less challenging slopes for those who are not so confident. Meribel offers skiing over 3 valleys which offers well in excess of 640 kms of pisted runs. After Morzine-Avoriaz, Meribel is the 2nd largest ski area in the world.

Morzine is a long-established French resort, popular for its stunning ladscapes, laid-back traditional atmosphere and gentle tree-filled slopes. Morzine neighbours the lively and diverse resorts of Avoriaz, Chatel and Les Gets and combined the Morzine-Avoriaz resort represents the largest ski area in the world. Morzine is equipped with numerous slopes and runs such as funparks, a halfpipe and a Stash run in addition to direct links to Avoriaz's Portes du Soleil circuit.
