Spring Festival Couplets

Spring Festival couplets also called door couplets,they have neat prose,antithesis,concise and wonderful language.Couplets express backgrounds of different periods,expressing people’s good requests.They are unique literature form in dishes.
 
Spring Festival couplets originated from peach coppice charms (Peach coppice charms were worn in the both sides of door in Zhou reign,they are rectangle.People thought that peach coppice charm can draw off bad ghosts.)
 
In five dynasties,a man who called Zhang Xun in palace,West Shu (Shu is Sichuan Province) wrote language on the peach coppice charm.Then it is the first case of Spring Festival couplets in dishes.To Song reign,the Spring Festival couplets were still the peach coppice charms.
 
Pasting couplets in Spring Festival began in Song reign,and Ming reign was its prosperous time.Zhuyuanzhang,an ruler in Ming reign liked to wirte couplets somewhat greatly and he regularly encouraged his people to wirte.
 
In Qing reign,Spring Festival couplets were better in judgment and art.There were heaps of sorts according to different usages.They can be separated into door pivotal couplets, casing couplets, horizontal couplets,pieces couplets and so on.
Door pivotal couplets:They are pasted on the pivotal door.
Frame couplets:They are worn on the both sides of door.
Horizontal couplets:They are pasted on the door subtitle.
Pieces couplets:They are pasted in different spaces according to their filling.
 
The Blessing word:People like to paste the Blessing word when they paste couplets.And the Blessing word they paste are reversed.Here,I have an interesting rumor regarding it.
 
It is said that Zhu Yuanzhang,one of the emperors in Ming reign,required to make the Blessing word as a motion to execute superstar.king Ma,who was very kind-hearted asked everyone pasted a Blessing word on the family door.One of family didn’t know the word,he reversed the word.When the ruler asked others to keep the motion,they found the condition.He was somewhat livid regarding it,he would execute that family.king Ma was troubled,she musing a good idea.She said to Zhu Yuanzhang that the family knew he would come,then they reversed the word deliberately,it meaned that blessing came.Zhu Yuanzhang was glad using this rumor and he gave up butchery that family.From then on,in order to pursue auspiciousness and to consider king Ma,people like to hitch the blessing word to paste.
 
Spring Festival couplets note assenting wellbeing and pursuit,at the same time,it must to conform different position and category.Such as farmers have their couplets,the filling regarding trainer are different from them.The conduct for beating Spring Festival couplets:
when we face the door,the first case of couplets is on our right section,the back is on our left section.generally they have the relations in grounds and prompt.And the means to differentiate the frist and the back case is that if the appraisal of their last word is the third or fourth,that is to say it is the first,otherwise it is the back.
