It''s an idyllic island of two huge rocks with beaches in between. The nearby island of Phi Phi Ley was the setting of The Beach, starring Leonardo Di Caprio. Phi Phi is small, and other than taking a boat trip around neighbouring islands or going to the beach, there isn''t a huge amount to do during the day. It is, however, a truly beautiful place, and while you can build on your tan in an idyllic location by day, there''s also some amazing partying to be had on the beaches at night. Ko Phangan, Surat Thani Province Ko Phangan is the hedonists dream, and home to the world famous Full Moon Party. The island itself is actually pretty big, with 10,000 inhabitants, so if you want to go to the party, you''ll need to head down to the southern tip of the island at Haad Rin Beach. Around the Full Moon Party period, you may find it difficult to get accommodation in Haad Rin itself, but if you can, or manage to book it early, then Coral Bungalows comes as recommended. However, there are beautiful beaches located around the island, and you''re rather spoilt for choice!
