The Caribbean is quite simply, postcard perfect. OK, so it's obvious to see why these islands are destination number one for newlyweds, but deserted beaches and candle-lit sunset dinners aside, culture is actually a big pull factor to these islands, particularly in the capital of 'chilaxing' ? Jamaica. Step outside of the main resorts and your senses will be filled with sounds, sights and smells that are unique to this part of the world. Immersing yourself in this lively yet laid-back culture is easy Kingston. Add some beautiful colonial architecture and the capital will satiate all your senses. On the other hand, Treasure Beach and Port Antonio offer a glimpse into the quieter side of the island. Stereotypical views of paradise, including white sand, clear cool water and a deserted beach usually come from Barbados and St Lucia. These islands actually live up to this reputation and if you are looking for an escape and a chance to catch up on some 'me time' then these are probably two of the best places in the world to do so ? the really won't disappoint. You can chose between botanical gardens, colonial plantations and British-feeling towns such as Worthing and Hastings if you want to stay on land. But lets be honest, you come to the Caribbean to spend most of your time under the sun, either on the sand or in the sea and these two islands are some of the most stunning places in the world to do so.
