The Perfect Starter Touchscreen Phone for your kids - Samsung Solstice

By: ryan viane

I have an iPhone, but obtained tired of paying for a knowledge plan that I did not want or need. So, I had to get a different telephone since AT&T requires a knowledge plan with any sensible phone. I think that requirement is outrageous. We must always have the ability to buy and use any kind of cell phone we wish, but how do you battle a greedy firm with all the money!

Anyway, I'd have most well-liked a Home windows OS cellphone, but had to settle on a dumb phone... AT&T rules again. I purchased the Samsung Solstice. It'll be exhausting to not examine it to the iPhone, however I'll do my best to be objective. The Solstice was difficult to get use to at first. The biggest problem I had was the scrolling. It was not clean in any respect and I saved selecting / launching one thing by accident. It took me several days, however I finally acquired use to the scrolling and don't launch an item quite as often.

After playing with the cellphone for a while I was shocked to discover options that not even the iPhone had. For example I like the Panorama on the camera. It's actually odd how it works. You simply click the button as soon as then the body reveals you the place to level for the following shots and then it takes the images automatically till you cease by urgent the button again. I took Panorama pictures with the Solstice and my 4mg px digital camera. With my digital camera I had to use a program to stitch the photos collectively, however not with the Solstice that did it automatically. I ask my good friend which image appeared the best and he picked the one taken with the Solstice.

Call / voice high quality is average. There isn't a Wi-Fi and I miss that. However, there is Bluetooth and I do use that to send photographs to my PC. It feels very snug in the hand as a result of mild weight and small size. The phone will be personalized in a number of methods which I like also. I have 4 headsets and had no problem in any respect pairing them. If you'd like a data plan then AT&T fees half the traditional charge as a result of this is not considered a wise phone. But, with a knowledge plan you possibly can nonetheless do virtually every little thing a sensible telephone can do.

There are various other features you will see with this cellphone which are too quite a few to checklist here. My score relies on making an allowance for what sort of telephone this is. There are a lot of different cell phones out there that have extra features and a lot better than the Solstice. However, for what it is, the Solstice is an effective selection and will satisfy most needs.

I like the best way the telephone emulates the look of the iPhone however none of the measurement or weight. Lastly I bought a phone that actually works with the AT & T network (I still do not know what is happening with their network as I mentioned, my Duo started being sporatic at best once I came back from trip in TN...Dunno why).

At anyrate its a fantastic telephone and I can add customized ringtones and photos for the "desktop". However, I do agree with many people that there should be a Person method of adjusting the screensaver when the telephone is locked--albiet the supplied graphics are good, simply want to personalize it more.

I've been without "groups" for my contact listing in a pair years as the past (including the Pantech) didn't enable me to put contacts into groups. At this level I was glad till I discovered you could't textual content a gaggle if it has greater than 10 people--so if you have greater than 10 individuals within the group you wish to txt blast then it's a must to A) cut up them up in to groups of 10, B) choose 10 folks from the group at a time and textual content them or C) simply use the contact/deal with book and add them one by one. ***Observe I still haven't tried to text more than 10 folks at a time--The Pantech did not enable me to textual content 20+ people at a time and w/o the group characteristic sending holiday needs became a chore.

The digital keyboard is a hit or miss--literally. You may find that sometimes you'll be sure you hit the proper key, nevertheless, it both sorts the wrong key, just beeps w/o getting into a character or places a space. I have begun to notice that generally the required keys (resembling "OK" or "enter") intrude with the punctuation or sometimes you ship a partial message because of hitting the "ok" key twice while your intent was to add an ellipses.
