Greenwich Village is also commonly referred to as the West Village or simply the Village. This is a place where visitors can pick up a chess game, take a jog, or walk their dogs. The variety is amazing and every visitor is sure to find something to tempt the taste buds. The names of the restaurants tend to include a touch of literary appeal. Nightlife in Greenwich Village Greenwich Village offers an eclectic array of nighttime activities. This area is well known for its late night cafes and coffeehouses featuring food, drinks, and in some cases, entertainment. A number of bars and music clubs are scattered throughout the area for those who prefer that type of atmosphere. A number of experimental theater events take place in this section of New York City as well.
