For a long time now, Amsterdam has been regarded as one of the best places to go for a night out in Europe. There are so many bars and clubs in Amsterdam that no matter what type of music you like, you will find something to suit your tastes. Here are a few nightclubs that are well worth a look.

With a jazzy world music vibe and a relaxed atmosphere, the Bitterzoet, near Central Station, is one of the best places to go for an affordable night out. In addition to the nightclub, there is also a theatre and a bar, and there are regular live performances.

If you fancy going somewhere with a house party vibe, Club Home on Wagenstraat is just the ticket. The main disco area is in the basement, and the other two floors are laid out like a living room and a bedroom respectively.

If you have a valid student ID, you might want to head along to Dansen Bij Jansen on Handboogstraat. The music policy is fairly mainstream and safe, but the drinks are cheap and it is always busy.

If hip hop is your bag, you will definitely feel at home in De Duivel?on Reguliersdwarsstraat. It is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and often features live performances and guest DJs on weekend nights.

The Escape?Theatre on Rembrandtplein is one of the biggest clubs in town, with a capacity of over 2000. The queues can be long, and the door policy is famously selective, although it is not as strict as when it first opened.

If you do not mind heading a little off the beaten track, the FlexBar on Pazzanistraat is an excellent place to go for an alternative night out. The drinks are fairly cheap, and the music policy is nice and varied, and if you do not like the music in one room, you can always go into the other one.

If live music is your thing, then be sure to head along the Melkweg on Lijnbaansgracht, which is one of Amsterdams most famous live venues. There are also club nights on the weekend, featuring the latest trends in world music.
