1. Shopping - Retail therapy is nothing less than a national sport in the commercial hub of Singapore. In fact, you won''t wander far through its towering, bustling streets without coming across a sizeable shopping mall. However, if you want the cr?me de la cr?me of Singapore''s shopping opportunities, head to Oxford Road.

2. China Town - Singapore embraces its multicultural population in vibrant China town. Here you will find examples of both modern and ancient Chinese culture, coexisting happy amid an array of colourful market stalls and a host of fabulous restaurants serving up every kind of Chinese cuisine imaginable.

3. Clarke Quay - This is Singapore''s one stop shop for nightlife. Themed bars of all descriptions serving up everything from classy cocktails to traditional German beer to fine French wine. Clarke Quay is sure to be buzzing on any night of the week.

4. Singapore Zoo is remarkable for its dedication to giving the zoo a good name, winning awards for its animal care and ecological and educational programmes. One of the most impressive initiatives to come from this zoo, however, is the Night Safari. It may be a little on the pricey side but it is certainly an evening to remember.

5. Though fun, there is no escaping China town''s touristy veneer. Little India, however, feels like the real deal. Leave yourself plenty of time to try as many different curries and delicious Indian desserts as you possibly can.

6. There are fantastic mountain biking opportunities up at East Coast Park, amid the beautiful rainforest here. You can take guided tours or simply pick up your bike and a map and head out by yourself or with your friends.
